Specializing in an extensive dim sum menu combined with traditional Chinese dishes, this restaurant is a delight for anyone seeking rich, flavorful meals in a welcoming environment.

The culinary experience here is anchored by highlight dishes that showcase Yip Hong’s dedication to authentic flavors and textures. The Steamed Pork Dumplings and Steamed Shrimp Dumplings epitomize delicate craftsmanship with tender, juicy fillings wrapped in silky dough, while the Chicken Sticky Rice offers a comforting blend of aromatic rice and succulent chicken, infused with subtle seasonings. For dim sum enthusiasts, the restaurant presents a tempting variety including the Pan Fried Chinese Turnip Cakes, Steamed Lotus Seed Buns, and Deep Fried Lotus Seed Sesame Balls, each bursting with distinct textures ranging from crispy exteriors to soft, flavorful interiors.

If you’re in the mood for heartier options, the Ginger Beef stands out as a well-crafted dish, boasting bold, tangy notes paired with tender slices of beef that melt in your mouth. The Curry Squid and Szechuan Tofu with Minced Pork deliver layers of heat and spice that awaken the palate, while the Three Courses Peking Duck (duck skin with wrap, chopped duck meat with lettuce, and duck bone soup) offers a refined culinary journey perfect for sharing or a celebratory meal.

Although some reviewers mention that the service can be inconsistent—occasionally requiring a bit of patience when calling on staff—the overall vibe remains warm and inviting.

On the sensory level, each dish presents a vivid tapestry of flavors: the savory aroma wafting through the air, the crispness of perfectly fried dim sum contrasted with the tender chew of steamed dumplings, and the harmonious balance of spice, sweetness, and umami in signature entrées like Garlic Deep Fried Chicken with Sweet & Chilli Sauce. This is not just dining—it’s an immersive culinary adventure that transports you to the bustling streets of China without leaving Saskatoon.

While a few customers have noted room for improvement in cleanliness—particularly with condiment stations—the restaurant’s commitment to authenticity and deliciousness shines through consistently. Those looking to enjoy a seamless takeaway experience will find Yip Hong's easy to navigate, with ample free parking and efficient online ordering ensuring food is packaged thoughtfully and ready for pickup.

Whether it’s your first visit or a return craving for genuine Chinese dim sum and hearty dishes, Yip Hong's Dim Sum Restaurant stands out as a reliable destination delivering rich flavors, unique offerings, and a lively dining scene that captures the spirit of traditional Chinese cooking.

The food was amazing. Except for the fried squid dish (soggy and not crunchy enough), everything we ordered was absolutely amazing. Service was so so, hard to get the attention of service staff and had to ask multiple times to get anything even during non-busy times. The atmosphere is nice. However, sanitation needs improvement. The condiment bottles and service call buttons are sticky every visit, and the tables dont appear to be wiped down properly between customers. Will definitely go back for the food.

We ordered takeout for dinner and the food was pretty good. We ordered online using their business website. It was easy to place our order and it was nicely packaged and ready for us when we arrived. Service was friendly. There’s ample free parking making pickup very easy.

It's a very nice location. The robot waiter was pretty cool. They have a box in the table to ask for water, the bill, or to order. I really liked them ginger beef. Third best I ever had. The lemon chicken was ok. I like more lemon. The bed of lettuce seemed to make the bottom side of the lemon chicken mushy but am around good.

We ordered quite a few of the Dim Sum items and the food was delicious. Extremely fast service, the staff seem to work great together as a team, and an overall nice environment. They do have unique robots that run food out however they weren’t operating while we were in. The crab Rangoon and steamed pork dumplings were our favourite. Worth checking out, always a great meal!

Authentic real Chinese food! The food here is pretty close to what you get in China. Price is kinda expensive but well worth it. I come here when I'm craving food from China. Service was nothing special. Atmosphere was typical Chinese restaurant.

Not really a fan of chinese food but this one here is not bad at all, i can't really say how authentic their food was since like what i said not a fan. Their dimsum is at par with the other that i have tried, same with the fried rice. The service was good and we dont wait long for our food to be served. Maybe if you want to see a robot who serve food you might come in their least busy hours, unfortunately we did not experience the robot service. Serving was great ,perfect for a group of friends or family who was really into chinese food. In general, i could still recommend this place for you to try out their food.
